Through the practice of yoga, you will learn flexibility, inner strength and self awareness. You will learn to bring relaxation into your daily life. After only a few sessions you can begin to feel positive changes in your body and your mind. As your body becomes more flexible, so will your thinking. As your muscles become stronger so will your inner power.
"We should challenge ourselves without causing pain or injury. To do this we must be aware of our limits within each pose".

YIN YOGAYin Yoga is a simple, quiet, in-drawn practice that uses steady, long-held postures that benefit your “yin,” connective tissues, such as the fascia, ligaments, tendons, joints, and bones. Poses are held 3 to 5 minutes each with all muscles relaxed and released. Yin Yoga is a more meditative approach to yoga, that aims at cultivating awareness of inner silence. It can be practised by everybody and will complement an already active life or help those who feel distracted by “mind chatter”. This practice calms the mind and nervous system, reduces stress and anxiety, increases circulation, improves flexibility and joint mobility, balances the internal organs and improves the flow of chi or prana through meridian stimulation.
Judit usually picks a theme to talk about during her Yin classes to keep students away from drifting to their mind chatter. Some theme examples are: being present, letting go of labels, joy, inner peace, the mind, opening to grace amongst others. |
THERAPEUTIC YOGA
Therapeutic yoga is a synthesis of healing modalities: restorative yoga, gentle yoga, breathwork, guided visualizations and essential oils to create an environment that supports the body, mind and spirit in the process of healing.
We are all healing in some level, whether psychologically, emotionally or physically. This truly holistic practice dissolves those distinctions as it guides us to a sense of wholeness. The word healing itself means the process of reuniting, restoring, and returning to oneness. |
During a Therapeutic Yoga session your body relaxes completely and then is when healing occurs.
There are studies showing that stress hormones flooding your body for days or weeks at a time depress your immune system, leaving you more open to disease. It is crucial that you find time to reconnect with yourself in order for healing to occur at an emotional and physical level. Therapeutic Yoga provides powerful tools for reducing stress.
How is a Therapeutic Yoga class?
Several props are used while doing restorative yoga poses: blankets, a bolster, a strap and blocks. The restorative poses are held from 5 to 10 minutes in order to enter a meditative and relaxing state to let go of physical and emotional pain. We also do very gentle poses in between to stretch the body. Breath work and guided meditations are also a very important part of the practice as they help to deepen the relaxation state.Essential oils such as lavender are also used.

GENTLE YOGA
During a Gentle Yoga session, you take time to feel your body move. Breath and movement merge in a beautiful meditative sequence, nurturing all the organs and cells in the body. Gentle yoga also helps you slow down the hectic pace of life and quiet the "monkey" mind chatter.
It is a bridge between moving in flow and staying stationary. It is a midway, where there is equilibrium and bliss in every pose. Gentle yoga equally strengthens and stretches, increasing flexibility and repairing muscles that are in need of love. There is no hurry to finish a sequence. There is no competition and no comparison. You just let your body move as gracefully as you can. Feeling gratitude for what you can do and acknowledging that every day your body is in a different place, honoring and respecting what you can do today. PRIVATE YOGAPrivate yoga sessions are a great way to get to know yoga and/or deepen your practice. For private sessions please contact Judit.
