Exploring and connecting with our roots can bring a greater sense of identity, belonging, and purpose in life. It helps us understand our cultural background, traditions, and values, and how they shape who we are today. This self-discovery can lead to a deeper appreciation and respect for our ancestry, and help us to understand the struggles and triumphs that have shaped our family history.
During this mini-retreat, we will not only connect with our lineage but we will honor the land we currently live in. By honoring the land we are in, we acknowledge and show gratitude for the resources and opportunities that it provides us. It can also bring a deeper connection to the community and environment around us, leading to a greater sense of belonging and purpose. Ultimately, finding our roots and honoring the land we are in can lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. It can give us a greater sense of direction and purpose, as well as a stronger connection to both our personal and cultural history. By embracing and celebrating our heritage, we can grow and flourish in ways that might not have been possible otherwise. |
Connecting with our roots can also bring a sense of comfort and stability in a rapidly changing world. It provides a grounding force that reminds us of where we come from and what is important to us, even as our lives and surroundings evolve. This sense of rootedness can help us navigate the challenges and uncertainties of life with greater resilience and determination.
What to expect:
Healing circle to connect with our roots
We will come together in a healing circle to share our heritage with the group. By sharing our stories and listening to others, we can learn from one another, find common ground, and create a sense of community and belonging. This can be especially beneficial for those who may feel disconnected from their heritage or culture, as it can provide a space for healing, growth, and connection. Using the drum as a guide, we will reflect on the following questions: Are we connected to our roots? Are we rejecting a part of our identity? How can we deepen our connection to our roots? As we ponder the questions, we will tap into the rhythm of the drum and allow it to lead us on a journey of introspection and reflection. This process can help us gain a deeper understanding of who we are and where we come from, and can foster a stronger connection to our roots. |
Outdoors Gratitude Ceremony to honor the land
What better day to honor the earth than Earth Day! On this special occasion, we will gather outside, beneath the Watchung trees, to ground ourselves, connect with the earth, and offer our gratitude. By connecting with and honoring the land and its ancestors, we tap into its spiritual energy, which can help us in ways we cannot even fathom. The act of honoring the land is a powerful and meaningful way to connect with nature, and to show our appreciation for the resources and blessings it provides us with. By gathering outdoors and connecting with the earth, we can slow down, ground ourselves, and tap into the peace and tranquility of nature. This can help us to feel more centered, focused, and calm, and to connect with the present moment in a deep and meaningful way. |
Gentle Yoga Judit combines all the knowledge and experience she gained from more than 20 years of teaching yoga to offer a unique style that incorporates everything she loves about yoga: sharing breathing techniques, gentle movement with deep stretching, inspiring music, and her motivational words guiding you within. This time, we will focus on the root chakra, to ground ourselves and grow roots stronger. |
Sound Healing You will lie down on a very comfortable cushioned blanket to receive a sublime sound healing session with Tibetan Singing Bowls, chimes, bells and tuning forks. Judit will also play a singing bowl filled with warm water on your body. The vibrations will travel throughout you, opening the chakras and meridians and removing stagnant energy from your emotional, physical and energetic body. |
Guided Visualization Judit will take you on a beautiful journey through a guided visualization prepared by herself and related to the retreat's theme. Guided imagery is a potent tool that uses words and images to help move your attention away from the worry, stress and pain to help you find your own inner strength and creativity. |
Overall, finding and honoring our roots is a lifelong journey that requires effort, dedication, and a willingness to learn and grow. But the rewards of this journey can be immeasurable, as it can bring greater self-awareness, a stronger connection to our heritage and community, and a greater sense of purpose and direction in life.
